College Stuff

So whether or not you're a freshman in college, or just moved off campus into your own place, try out these decorating tips before the new semester comes in to find fabulous items for great prices!

1. Pick a theme!

For me, picking a theme definitely makes it easier to match different items and ideas within my living space! Great theme ideas could include tropical, high fashion, musical, city-scape, country, old hollywood, under the sea, bollywood, and more!

2. Have a color scheme!

Wow. Do you know how FRUSTRATING it is to have this great decorating idea in your head yet everything be a cloud of all these colors...which to pick?!...and then omg, don't get me started on the different types of SHADES there are to EACH color. Picking a color scheme will help ease the stress because when you are out and about, and something catches your eye, it will be quite easy to incorporate it in your room if you have at least an idea of the color scheme you plan on having! ;)

My favorite is blue and green for a tropical theme. (You can choose any kind of tropical color such as orange, or yellow, but blue and green are my fav!) My undertone accents are white and brown.

*Mixing and Matching is a must but try not to go TOO oveboard! :p*

3. PERSONALITY!

Ofcourse, you should personalize your room or living space. And by that I DON'T mean writing your name or initials on everything (hahahaha). I mean show your personality. Put up some photos of you and family and friends. If you're a loud and outgoing, show your bright personality through colors and creative items that would show everyone who you are...without a word! Also, it's where you'll be living for a while, so might as well get comfortable!
